It couldn’t be easier to visit Newark.
Historically, Newark became a prominent town on the UK map by the time of the Civil Wars because of its prominent geographic position. Located halfway between London and York, on the Great North Road, and being a safe point to cross the River Trent, it made the ideal stronghold. Today, its excellent rail and road connections make it the perfect place to explore on either a day trip or longer visit.
